Membership Information

2016 Club Memberships.

All quoted membership fees include GST.

Full Membership:

Cost: $195 per year

Paddle a minimum of twice a week with our club teams.

You do not require any experience to paddle on these teams. We have teams on the water 7 days a week. Please contact the club to determine which teams are best for you and check the website schedule to confirm practice time. Some volunteer commitment is expected.

Full Membership includes:

  • Use of club paddles and life jackets
  • Instruction by EDBRC approved or DBC certified coach
  • Free entry for EDBRC 5th Annual Riverdale Sprint Races, date TBA

Does not include:

  • Dragon Boat Canada Membership
  • Festivals or regattas.
  • Use of outrigger canoes.

Family Membership:

Cost $150.00 per year

Full membership reduced when 1st family member purchases full membership. Must be living at the same address. Maximum 4 per address. Some volunteer commitment is expected.

Student Full Membership:

Cost: $150.00 per year

Equivalent to the Full Year Membership. Must be a full time student. Student I.D. must be presented at time of registration. Some type of volunteer commitment is expected. Please contact the club for more information.

Associate Membership:

Cost: $50.00

Conditions: Injury, non-Edmonton residency and other.

Youth Membership:

Cost: Free!

Paddle Mondays 6:30-7:30pm starting June 27.

Available to ages 17 and under. Parents must sign a waiver before paddling. Please contact the club to register.

Competitive Program

Pre- Requisite: Full Membership ($195.00 per year)

Want to really improve your paddle skills? This program may be for you.

The Competitive Program provides training 1.5 hours at a time three times a week at during the paddle season at 2 locations. Dawson site (clubhouse) or Lake Summerside in SE Edmonton. (The location will always be posted on the website schedule).  Our Competitive Program will give members every advantage possible to be chosen for one of the competitive teams by providing challenging work outs, regular fitness testing based on DBC testing protocols and regular time trials using Kayak Pro paddle ergs or outrigger canoes. Competitive club teams are not selected until spring of each year, sometimes only weeks before each competition.

Any full club member may participate in the Competitive Program whether it for comp team selection or improving fitness and paddle skills. Some experience in paddling is an asset but not necessary however a certain level of fitness is expected to prevent injuries.

*DBC membership fee of $20-30 may be required for participation in DBC qualifier festivals and Canadian National Championships.
