Wahine Kei Waka
Wahine Kei Waka means ‘women in canoe’.
But we are much more than five syllables.
We are a group of independent, dedicated and strong women.
We come from different backgrounds, but have found our way to the challenging sport of dragon boating and a love of competition while pushing ourselves to BE BETTER. TO DO BETTER.
As hard as we practice — we like to have fun! We are a social crew and spend time together off the water participating in various activities, ranging from bike rides, to snowshoeing/XC skiing, to football games, dinners and of course nights at the pub!
Our favorite team chant: ICE. COLD. BEER.
We practice Mondays and Wednesdays 5:50PM – 6:50PM.
We participate in team fundraising (helps to pay festival fees).
Coached by Lauria MacDougall
